WAS MY BIRTHDAY

OMG.

OH-EM-EFFING-GEE.

I went to my first ever Alice Cooper concert Tuesday night.

IT WAS AMAZING.

I don't even have words for how awesome it was. But I'll sure as hell try to find some. XD

Well, it started off with dressing up. Me, my sis, and two of my best friends got crazy decked out in the darkest getup we could fathom!

I donned my old Halloween Alice costume once more, but with some new gloves and delicious Along Came A Spider eye makeup this time... I helped my sis to look like a doll and my friend Melissa to look dead, so I dubbed them my creation and my victim, respectively. My other friend Jess rocked a black corset, fishnets, and wicked boots, and I claimed her as my assistant. XD

So, fully dressed and feeling awesome, we headed out to the concert, expecting to find plenty of Coop fanatics similarly dressed. Except we forgot something rather vital.

We were in the MIDDLE of Hillbillyville. >_> but we got plenty of attention and compliments on our outfits, so it was really cool. XD

And the show... dear god. We saw Alice beheaded, hung, injected with a giant freaking needle and, finally, run through with dozens of swords in a magic-box sort of contraption. Not to mention we were welcomed to his nightmare, saw him strangle a rather promiscuous nurse, witnessed him impaling one of his minions with a long sharp metal rod, and watched him profess his lust for a corpse, all the while singing some awesome songs! XD Highlights were "Poison", "Wicked Young Man", "Vengeance is Mine" (OH MY GOD THAT AMAZING SPIDER COAT), "Cold Ethyl", and, of course, "School's Out", which he opened and closed the concert with, in two different awesome outfits!

Afterwards I forced my companions to hover over some concrete dividers near the trailers in the hopes that Alice would come over and do some signatures and stuff, but no dice. Didn't even catch a glimpse of him after the show. :c My main reason for hanging around was because I'd printed out and laminated a copy of one of my recent deviations [link] and added a little personal message on the back, just to give to him. I eventually ended up giving it to one of the nice security guards, who said he'd try to hand it to someone who could give it to Alice themselves. While I highly doubt it got to him, I have my fingers crossed. >.<

FINAL CONCLUSION?

I'M GOING AGAIN IN SEPTEMBER. WITH A V.I.P. PASS. XD

I don't know. I left the concert with the sensation that I'd received a huge reality check, and I've kinda been bummed since. Not like I'm moping that Alice and I aren't LOLBFF's now or anything, just that I kinda wanted to see him in person, face to face. So I figure going with a VIP pass will kinda, I dunno, get this urge out of my system. We'll see, I suppose. >_>

The highlight of the evening was probably going to the Chicken On A Stick booth just outside of the concert area, and having the three adorable little asian guys that worked there take about a dozen pictures of me and my friends (but noticeably especially me, since I was sporting the full Alice deal XD).

Another side effect of the concert, somehow, has been a major renewal of my desire to pursue my comic stories. So you may see some comic pages relatively soon, depending on how I end up drawing them.

I was creeping on somebody's page somewhere, when I saw one of those "Ten facts about yourself" journals, and I thought, what the heck. I'll let the stalkers have it easy for a day. 83

1. I am a horrible, horrible, horrible procrastinator, and I will go to any length to justify, in my mind, that delaying cleaning my room, writing that scholarship essay, or organizing an undead army for world domination is really for the best. Especially since Horton Hears a Who is on TV. >.>;

2. When I am a fan of someone's character here on DA, I'm really a fan. I seriously make my friends go on their computers and look at the characters, and show them all my favorite drawings of said characters. XD Some of my favorites include *-patches-'s Yarrow, *Jubilations's Tonks and Dezzi, ~ChOiCeS's Beelz and Death, ~Olsie's Chris, and `Endling's Rex. There are others. Those are just the ones I remember at the moment. >.>

3. Although I have been working on it a lot, I have a tendency to be borderline paranoid, or at the very least, pessimistic about what people think of me. A couple years back it used to be to the point where, if somebody nearby laughed, I assumed they were laughing at me, even if it seemed obvious they were laughing at something else entirely. Now it's just the occasional, "oh, they probably think I'm annoying", but I'm getting over it.

4. I'm a horrible decision maker. 8< Also something I've worked on, but I'm usually the last person to place her order when I go out to eat with people, cuz I'm so friggin' indecisive. "Well, I've ordered this before, so I KNOW it's good, but I've never had this..."

5. I absolutely hate being stared at. It's different if I'm up on a stage giving a speech or something, or even just reading in front of a class - I mean, that's a situation where you're kinda supposed to be the center of attention - but if I'm just sitting around or whatever and I notice someone staring at me, like REALLY staring, it pisses me off. Like this old guy down my street who just sits there and STARES at me as I walk by his house on my way to work. WTH.

6. My memory is selective. For example, I can't remember what I had for breakfast two days ago, but I can remember a monologue from Romeo and Juliet that I had to memorize my freshman year of high school. Word for word. Keep in mind, that's over four years ago. O.O

7. I am a lip-synching fiend. For me, happiness is my iPod on high volume, a hairbrush, a full-length mirror, and an empty house. XD

8. If I forget to have at least one cup of coffee on any given day, by the end of that day I will have a horrible migraine. Yes, I believe it's caffeine withdrawal. I CAN QUIT ANYTIME. >8[

9. Sometimes when I'm home alone, I just talk out loud to no one in particular. Especially when I'm critiquing something on TV. "Oh, that's a GREAT idea, let's go TOWARD the creepy sounds! Geez, this chick WANTS to die!!!"

10. I have a huge emotional investment in my characters. 'Nuff said.


And a bonus! 11. would be that I have a headache right now. Even though I had my coffee. :<

I'm back! With a VENGEANCE!!! And... um... hrm, well there goes the epic.

ANYWAY!

Okay, so due to a. the fact that I need to get more serious about my art and b. the fact that I'm not doing too well financially, I'm going to try to redouble my efforts to sell commissions! And to promote them, the first 3 people to comment on this journal will get a free colored bust of any character of their choice! WOOOO HURRY HURRY HURRY.

Seriously, though, I'm starting to get worried. I mean, financially, things are... fragile. And I'm not sure I'll be able to afford my college housing next semester. So anything to help at this point is appreciated.

On another note, I really want to get started on doing some actual comic pages done! Of which comic I'm not sure, but probably the Lucy/Joey one. Some silly filler-type stuff, but I want to work on the actual thing as well. Of the real deal, I can give you guys snippets and stuff, but if I want to put it in a book format, I don't wanna give the whole thing away. >.<

So anyways. I MISS YOU GUYS A LOT.
